Sculpting Portrait Bust Class – Natural Clay (In-person)

Sculpt a portrait in semi-realistic, cartoon or caricature style with natural clay. We will explore:
1. basic human anatomy,
2. blocking forms & checking silhouettes,
3. sculpting details into a bust,
4. hollowing the sculpture.
We will also take all precautions so that your sculpture can survive the firing!

This course is for those who don’t even know how to draw!

Sculpting People/Animals Class – Polymer Clay (Online)

This class is taught online, 1-on-1, as there is no need for a dedicated space as with natural clay. You can learn how to sculpt at home! It is easy to reschedule or extend the number of classes to learn more. The class can go as detailed as you want it to be. That’s why this class is on a learn-as-you-go model.
Sculpture size: 3 to 8 inches

Why Polymer Clay?
Sculpting miniatures requires a specialized clay like Super Sculpey. This clay medium can help you put in a lot of detail into miniatures, dolls, etc. In this class you will learn basic human/animal form, armature building, blocking, setting poses building custom tools and extra anatomical/cloth details. I’ve written a blog post on this medium.

Prerequisites:
This course is for those who don’t even know how to draw!
Sculpting Medium: Super Sculpey Polymer Clay (or Oil based clay, if you need)
Tools: Basic Sculpting tools & loop tools
Age Group: 15 and above
Mode: Discord or Zoom
Equipment: External Web Camera (preferred), Internet, Laptop/Desktop (easier for you to see the details in class)
Number of classes: Learn-as-you-go
